  1. PLEASE NOTE: These components are used by Delphi programmers to
  2. develop print applications which they sell to end users. The demo
  3. that is included assumes that you have Delphi installed. It will
  4. not function on its own. They use the DBDEMOS alias and data.

  9. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
  10. -----------------------

  12. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  13. before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
  14. using it, you are expected to register. Individual programs
  15. differ on details -- some request registration while others
  16. require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With
  17. registration, you get anything from the simple right to continue
  18. using the software to an updated program with printed manual.

  20. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software,
  21. and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
  22. exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished
  23. programmers, just like commercial authors, and the programs are
  24. of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs
  25. and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of
  26. distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy
  27. and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a
  28. specific group. For example, some authors require written
  29. permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their
  30. Shareware.

  32. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You
  33. should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
  34. whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes
  35. fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you buy.
  36. And because the overhead is low, prices are low also. Shareware
  37. has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the
  38. product, you don't pay for it.

  43. Users of PrintIt! must accept this disclaimer of warranty:
  44. "PrintIt! is supplied as is.  The author disclaims all
  45. warranties, expressed or implied, including, without limitation,
  46. the warranties of merchantability and of fitness for any purpose.
  47. The author assumes no liability for damages, direct or conse-
  48. quential, which may result from the use of PrintIt!."

  50. PrintIt! is a "shareware product" and is provided at no charge
  51. to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your
  52. friends, but please do not give it away when registered.
  53. The essence of "user-supported" software is to
  54. provide personal computer users with quality software without
  55. high prices, and yet to provide incentive for programmers to
  56. continue to develop new products.  If you find this product
  57. useful and find that you are using PrintIt! and continue to use
  58. PrintIt! after a reasonable trial period, you must register it
  59. with J. Calitz.  This registration fee will license
  60. one copy for use on any one computer at any one time. The
  61. registration and the activation code will be valid for future
  62. minor upgrades,  bug fixes and enhancements to  PrintIt!
  63. Version 4.0.   When we have received your payment,  we will
  64. fax or post your activation code to you. You must treat this
  65. software just like a book.  An example is that this software
  66. may be used by any number of people and may be freely moved
  67. from one computer location to another, so long as there is
  68. no possibility of it being used at one location while it's
  69. being used at another. Just as a book cannot be read by two
  70. different persons at the same time. Programs developed by
  71. using the PrintIt! components may be distributed without
  72. any additional royalties.

  74. Commercial users of PrintIt! must register and pay for their
  75. copies of PrintIt! within 30 days of first use or their license
  76. is withdrawn.

  78. Anyone distributing PrintIt! for any kind of remuneration must
  79. first contact J. Calitz at the address below for authorization.
  80. This authorization will be automatically granted to shareware
  81. distributors, and such distributors may begin offering
  82. PrintIt! immediately (However J. Calitz must still be advised so
  83. that the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the latest
  84. version of PrintIt!.).

  86. PrintIt! has a nag screen which displays when PrintIt! is not
  87. registered. If not registered then the not registered message
  88. will also print on all reports and printouts. If registered
  89. the message on the reports will be replaced by the user's own
  90. wording or nothing if required.

  92. You are encouraged to pass a copy of PrintIt! along to your
  93. friends for evaluation.  Please encourage them to register their
  94. copy if they find that they can use it.

  97. A.   Description

  100. PrintIt!  are fully functional print components for Delphi.  It
  101. enables you to print forms, reports,  tables, queries, etc.  with
  102. a minimum of programming.  Unlike other Delphi demo shareware
  103. components,  there is no need for Delphi to run while your program
  104. (with PrintIt! )  is executing.  You must however have the Delphi
  105. Paradox Engine installed if you are using database access.

  107. This copy of  PrintIt!  displays a  NOT REGISTERED message on the
  108. screen when preparing a printout and prints a  NOT REGISTERED  message
  109. on all printouts if not registered. If you register, you will receive
  110. an activation code that disables the nag screen and nag message printed
  111. at the bottom of each printout.

  119. PrintIt! product even further. New versions are coming out
